150-Word Story Burning Horns

The horns of the ram started burning. Just like that.

And the car that was partially submerged in the river too, it was burning.

Two eagles flew by, and so did a pack of doves. The bear, who noticed a fish by the rear tires, roared from atop the car in excitement. Good food.

The rabbit and the buffalo stared at each other, grazing.

All the while the sergeant stood by the rock, waiting for something. Occasionally checking his wristwatch, he kept staring at the horns of the ram in disbelief. Then followed another sip from the flask. And since he had been drinking from the start of the conflict, his prognosis was that the mind was powerful at playful tricks. Another sip. And the skyline bloomed in layers of purple. He would sit now and wait. Another sip. He wondered which side made gains.

An entanglement, or the like.

Excerpt From Noustalgia 1.0

Heart beat, O Heart beat
Unfamiliar and familiar thud you are

How the present never stays
And past and future and

Yet all seem to be Great Grand Known Unknown Now.

Where may my thoughts dwell amongst these numerous and welcoming canopies

What ought I seek
When what I seek is (somewhat) what I find
And when what I seek is never (somewhat) what I find

Is there any wonder on how to deal with day-to-day worrying

Racing toward something, running away from something, anti-thing
Uncertainties, suffering, continuity

What is
Of all this.

Head, O Head
Are you not, Are you

awed-befuddled-puzzled by these shape-shifting mists –
